i recently moved back to new york after living in barcelona for the past three years where i studied at metàfora, centre d’estudis d’art i artteràpia. here i attended a year of an international art open workshop program and then the first year of a masters program in art therapy. i also spent this time exploring new techniques of art making and trying new materials. initially i focused primarily on photography (i received a bfa at otis art institute in 1989, then affiliated with parsons school of design), but now am experimenting with sculpture, video and public intervention as well. usually, i let the theme of a project dictate the medium as opposed to first decide to make a sculpture or photograph, etc. much of my work is inspired by nature, curiosity, games, playing and humor.

a few people who inspire me: jenny holzer, joan brossa, robert filliou and dolly parton
